Dennis D. Stone
Owner, Master Instructor
CPCU, CLU, CIC
With 34 years experience as a multi-line licensed insurance agent, Dennis continued his professional development by completing the CPCU, CLU, and CIC designations in addition to a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma. Dennis is a national faculty member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, is a certified instructor for the Employers Reinsurance E&O Loss Control Program, and has presented continuing education courses in 49 states of the U.S.
Dennis specializes in the professional development of multi-line career insurance agents. Developing course material using the actual company policy forms, Dennis presents CE seminars that enhance the agents’ coverage expertise regarding specific policy forms. With an increased awareness of policy coverage, the career agent is better equipped to compete for new business, increase retention, and reduce E&O loss exposure.
Angie Heavener began her insurance career in 1971 joining her family’s agency. She held numerous positions in the agency consisting of CSR, producer, and eventually
agency owner. In 1993, she sold her agency to join the staff of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois. She began as assistant vice president of Marketing/Instructor and was
shortly promoted to vice-president of
Education. She is currently the principal of Insurance Training Plus, Inc., a professional training and
consulting firm focused on education and agency operations, that she began in 2002.
Angie served as education chairperson for both the IIAI and PIIAI, as well as a committee
member for the IIAA. She has also been active on numerous other state and national committees. Angie received the Young Agent of the Year Award in 1991, obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1994, and her Certified Professional Insurance Agent designation in 1999.
Angie teaches numerous property and casualty education seminars and is a frequent speaker at state
conventions. In addition she also teaches sales, service and operations programs. She is a national faculty member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.
Angie is an approved auditor for a number of E&O carriers. She also conducts internal Errors and Omissions audits on agencies throughout the country and
works with agencies on developing procedures and workflows. She also writes articles for various state insurance association
Jerry T. Hargrove
J.D., CIC, CPIA, CBIA, SCLA, FCLA, PICS, LICS
Jerry Hargrove retired as president of Northside Insurance Services in December, 2003, after 36 years as an independent agent. He continues as CEO of Insurance Litigation Counselors, LLC, EdTrak™ Insurance Seminars, LLC and Bank Insurance Examiners, LLC, providing litigation support for errors and omissions defense, expert witness services, consulting in agency management, marketing, training, errors and omissions risk management and bank insurance portfolio audits.
Jerry has been honored as Marketeer of the Year by IMMS and National Professional Agent of the Year by PIA. Jerry served as PIA National President in 1993.
Driven to advance agents’ interests, Jerry is a strong advocate of continuing education. He is a CIC and has been a member of the National Faculty of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors since 1986 and is the Society’s Education Consultant for the state of Georgia. Jerry created the course work for Builders University, the training arm of Builders Mutual Insurance Company, and presents the seven seminar program leading to the Certified Builders Insurance Agent.
A teacher and student, Jerry has Bachelor of Science degrees in business and criminal justice from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from John Marshall University School of Law.
Jerry spent thirteen years as a professional race boat driver, capturing two international and three national championships. The same energy and enthusiasm he applied to racing is evident in his passion for the American Agency System.
Jerry spends his free time on the lake and experiencing his second childhood with his 10 grandchildren.
CLU, CIC, RHU, ChFC
Jerry graduated from the University of West Florida in 1970 from the College of Education. After college he taught high school for one year, and then worked for the West Bend (Wisconsin) Company. Later he played professional golf before entering the insurance industry. In 1975 he began as an agent with a property & casualty direct writer, and moved to management in 1980. In 1984, he and his wife formed and operated their own independent agency (Rhinehart Insurance Agency - Tallahassee, FL).
In January of 1988 he assumed an additional position as Director of Education for PIA of Florida. In this capacity he was in charge of education programs, instruction
and educational articles for the
membership. On April 1, 1989 he rejoined his agency on a full-time basis, and headed up the life and financial services department of the agency.
John has worked as an Independent insurance agent for 25 years owning and operating an insurance agency for 10 of those 25 years. He has a BS Degree from Auburn University. John received his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1977, his Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation (AAI) in 1984, his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1993, and his Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) in 2001. He was Director of Education and Professional Development for the Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma from 1996 until 2000.
He currently owns and operates Dismukes Training and Consulting, LLC, and conducts insurance seminars across the United States having conducted educational seminars in 49 states, and conducts insurance consultation services nationwide.
Linda McHenry Faulkner
Linda’s career in the insurance industry, which spans more than 30 years, is both extensive and varied. In addition to being a licensed producer and consultant, she founded two insurance agencies (one each in Massachusetts and Montana), served as a faculty member for the National Alliance and a number of other insurance organizations, is an approved insurance CE provider in a handful of states, and is an approved insurance CE instructor in all 50 states.
Currently, Linda works full-time as a freelance writer, course developer, and trainer as the principal of Faulkner Education Services, which she founded in 2006. She specializes in creating insurance courses—classroom, online, self-study, and webinar—that not only enhance a student’s grasp of a particular subject but also prove to be entertaining and easy to follow.
Linda is also a published writer, with two books, a newspaper column, and numerous magazine articles to her credit—including those in Rough Notes and the National Alliance’s Resources—and is currently at work on a suspense novel. After living in Montana from 2003 to 2011, Linda returned to Massachusetts, where she enjoys the company of her family, especially that of her granddaughters.
Tom has a background in the Insurance Industry that dates back to the late 1970’s, where he started
in production with a Life and Health Carrier in Iowa, soon after, he worked in training & marketing for the same carrier in Ohio and Michigan.
In 1986 Tom purchased a Property and Casualty Agency to compliment his Life, Health and Group
clients. In 1994 Tom began his instructing for PIA of Ohio as well as with the National Alliance. In 1999 Tom was awarded by PIA of Ohio the prestigious Jack V. Hedges Educator of the Year Award. He also serves on the National Faculty for CIC & CISR. Currently Tom is President of Sanders
Insurance Services Inc.
Tom is married to his wife Cheryl, they have four children and 10 grandchildren.
